Fondly Remembered

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

It's not that the farewell gift was expensive, but the thought that made everything worthwhile. From then till now, they believe wholeheartedly in me. I told them I will, and so I definitely will.

With love, me.

End January

Monday, January 28, 2008

I hate copycats, really. Open/discreet copying alike.

Anyway, last weekend, my father's friend came to visit again and bought us alot of Chinese New Year goodies. 20 bucks red packet for each of us too. =D How I wish he visit every week instead of every year. Haha. His daughter is so cute. It's like every year she grows a little taller, a little more vocal and a little prettier. That's my sister teaching her some card game. I was trying to explain the rules of the game to her, but I think she didn't get me. -_-

Thanks to all the goodies in my house, I have been feeding on cookies and pineapple tarts (my absolute favourite!) like nobody's business. Dragged my lazy ass for 2.4 km run yesterday though. I love jogging, will be going for more this week!

That day my sister went out with her secondary school friends and it turned out 2 of them went for Jay World Tour. I don't know where kids get their money these days man. Anyway, they also bought a bag and some figurines before the concert. My sister snapped some PICTURES of "Jay" for my viewing pleasure.

I like the Taiwan one. So Jay!

Photobucket

Oh yes. I don't want 30th to come. :(

When Sharon meets Yiying

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Highlight of the day: 3 free plates of sushi at Sakae, all thanks to the blur waiter who didn't factor that into the bill. Our telepathies decided that we should keep mum about it. It was only a mere 20 bucks for dinner. Hehs. More occassions like these are good for the pocket. =D

Then was more shopping, tried a new blusher. Hope it's good.

With the money saved for dinner, we went to n.y.d.c. for desserts and drinks, saw Eeyore and Elmo there. What a surprise! :P

Photobucket

It was not long before Elmo came along to say hi. Hehe. Sweet.

This is my bestest friend in the world. I wouldn't trade our friendship for anything. :) :)

We went to the Zoo Zoo Zoo =D

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

So last Saturday we relived our childhood at the Singapore Zoo. Since there were 4 free tickets, we decided to go on a double date with Connie and Zhiyan. As usual, the man was totally immersed in his humourous disposition and my Mr Leong painted a laughter-filled environment along with him. I think they make the best comedians lah huh. Connie and I make the best audience. =P

Photobucket

As usual, we took many pictures along the way.

Photobucket

Finally, it was time to leave the zoo.

Photobucket

For the purpose of ushering the year of the rat, my Mr Leong, Zhiyan and I decided to pose with the 2 "rats" at the entrance/exit. All 3 of us were born in the year of the rat. Haha.

Photobucket

Just yesterday a professor in one of my classes wanted us to introduce ourselves, and we could say things like what we did during the holidays. I had wanted to talk about my experience in the zoo, but was ultimately glad I didn't. 2 of my coursemates went as well, but when they told the class about it, it actually sent them into peals of laughter. Well. Maybe, going to the zoo isn't that cool after all. I was secretly thanking my parents my surname starts with Xie instead of Chia though. At least I could listen to other people first. I could have been the one who "made a fool of myself." -_-

I have been lemming for Seoul Garden, but because of my gian ben gian sai-ness, the decision is to dine there after I quit ICA so that it will be during off peak hours and I can enjoy the privilege of a student paying only a mere $10.99. In the meantime, I shall continue to salivate. The moans and groans of a poor student. Sobs.

People I Love

Sunday, January 06, 2008

Birthdays that fall in January are really dreadful. The start of a year basically makes one feel old, pair that up with a birthday, and it almost seems like you have aged 10 times. -_-

Still, I want to thank my Mr. Leong for his well thought out birthday celebration for my 23rd. Many surprises. I like. =D

Photobucket

Today, my sister and I celebrated our birthdays. We are both born in January. Kenny Rogers is so good! *slurps*

Ok, last week before school starts.

2007 A Year to Remember

Tuesday, January 01, 2008

2008 will be one filled with many changes. I can sense it. To herald in the New Year, I thought it would be good to start 2008 by first ending 2007. :)

31122007 was spent with my "TMS Gang", as self-declared by them in my birthday card. My 23rd seems to be one celebrated in advance, such that when I receive my presents, I thought they were belated Christmas presents. -_-" Hahaha. Thai Express, then TCC. I bet you can spot which photo was taken by Mingen's hp. =/

Photobucket

Oh ya, they gave me a card, and vouchers. In a sense, I think a card is worth so much more than a present. Think about the effort needed to select a card, write it etc. Birthday presents are like annuities. You make investments in your friends' presents, and at the end of the year, you get your repayment on your birthday. So practical, I don't like. :(

Photobucket

Each time I turn on my computer to try to do my thesis outline, I do everything there is to do except that. I have a feeling I would be doing modules instead of a thesis if this goes on. My supervisor was in Kyoto for the past weeks, though I think he is back already. He better be, so many administrative matters to settle, but first, I would have to get the outline out. Sian.

I thought I would be first to cook up a post, but apparently, Yong Qi beat me to it. Eh, Jiahui, faster leh! We also want to read your version lor!
